Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma knew that she wanted to be an actress and for many years she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied performing and singing. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach and school productions when she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these characters. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records during the opening day and the very first weekend. Critics were impressed with the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards for the film.
